Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

Davis And Sons Heating and Air LLC is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, magnification, voice control, or keyboard-only navigation, and people with low vision, limited dexterity, or cognitive disabilities.

We are a small family business, not a software company. What we can promise is that accessibility was designed in rather than bolted on, that we test it, and that if you tell us something is broken we will fix it rather than argue about it.

Standard we follow

We target the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. WCAG 2.2 has been the World Wide Web Consortium's current recommendation since October 2023 and supersedes WCAG 2.1. It is also the benchmark courts and regulators reference under the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Because WCAG 2.2 is backward compatible, meeting Level AA of WCAG 2.2 also means meeting Level AA of WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.0.

Conformance status

What we have done

Specific, checkable things built into this site:

• Full keyboard operation. Every link, button, form field, and expandable section works without a mouse, in a logical order.
• Visible focus. A high-contrast outline follows keyboard focus, and focus is never hidden behind the sticky header or the call bar at the bottom of the screen.
• Skip link. A “Skip to content” link appears on the first tab press so you can bypass the navigation.
• Text contrast. All text meets or exceeds the 4.5:1 ratio required at Level AA — including buttons, small print, and text over dark backgrounds. We verified this by measuring every text element on every page rather than sampling.
• Non-text contrast. Form field borders and button outlines meet the 3:1 ratio required for interface components.
• Target sizes. Every clickable control is at least 24 by 24 pixels, meeting the target size criterion added in WCAG 2.2.
• Real form labels. Every field has a visible, permanently associated label — not a placeholder that vanishes as you type — plus autocomplete hints so your browser can fill fields for you.
• Clear errors. If a form entry is wrong, the error appears in text beside the field, explains how to fix it, and is announced to screen readers. Errors are never signalled by color alone.
• Announced confirmations. When your request sends, focus moves to the confirmation so it is read aloud rather than silently replacing the form.
• Reflow and zoom. The site works down to a 320-pixel-wide screen and at 200% zoom without horizontal scrolling or lost content.
• Semantic structure. Proper headings, landmarks, and lists, so screen reader users can navigate by structure. One clear main heading per page.
• Consistent help. Our phone number is in the same place on every page, as is the navigation.
• No motion traps. Nothing flashes, auto-plays, moves on its own, or requires dragging. Animation is reduced automatically if your device asks for reduced motion.
• No time limits. Nothing on this site expires or times out while you are using it.
• No logins or CAPTCHAs. There is no account to create and no puzzle to solve, so there is no accessible-authentication barrier.

Known limitations

We would rather tell you these up front than have you discover them:

• Third-party pages. Links to our Google Business Profile and Facebook page lead to sites we do not control and cannot fix. If a review or post there is not accessible to you, call us and we will read it to you or send it in whatever format works.
• Assistive technology testing. We have tested with keyboard navigation, browser zoom, and automated tooling. We have not yet completed hands-on testing with every screen reader and browser combination in use. If you hit a problem with your particular setup, please tell us what you are using so we can reproduce it.
• No independent audit. Our conformance claim is based on self-evaluation.
• Future content. As we add photographs of completed work, each image will need a proper text description. If you find one without a useful description, that is an oversight on our part — please tell us.

We aim to respond within five business days. If a fix will take longer than that, we will tell you what we are doing and offer a way to get what you needed in the meantime.

How we tested

This statement is based on a self-evaluation carried out in August 2026, which included:

• Automated measurement of text contrast, interface-component contrast, and target size on every element of every page.
• Automated checks that focused elements are not obscured by the sticky header or the fixed call bar.
• Manual keyboard-only walkthroughs of the navigation, mobile menu, expandable questions, and quote form.
• Layout testing from 320 pixels wide upward, and at browser zoom up to 200%.
• Review of page structure — headings, landmarks, labels, and link text.

We re-run these checks whenever we change the design.

Compatibility

This site is built to work with current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop and mobile, together with the assistive technology those browsers support. It does not rely on JavaScript for you to read the content, find our phone number, or navigate between pages — those work even if scripts are blocked or fail to load.

It may not work well in browsers several versions out of date, or in Internet Explorer, which is no longer supported by its maker.

Accessibility of this site relies on HTML, CSS, and a small amount of JavaScript, and on their combination with your web browser and any assistive technology you use.
