Privacy Policy
Plain-English detail on what we collect, why, who sees it, and how to make us stop.
Last updated August 7, 2026
Who this covers
This Privacy Policy explains how Davis And Sons Heating and Air LLC (“Davis & Sons”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information collected through this website, by phone, by text, by email, and in the course of providing heating and air conditioning services in South Carolina.
It applies to homeowners and prospective customers. It does not apply to information handled by third parties on their own platforms — for example, a review you leave on Google or a message you send us on Facebook is governed by that company's privacy policy as well as this one.
What we collect
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, phone number, and email address.
- Service details — your town, the type of work you need, the age and condition of your equipment, and anything you tell us in the message field, on a call, or at your home.
- Property information — access notes, system location, and photos or measurements we take while diagnosing or quoting work.
- Transaction records — quotes, invoices, work performed, parts installed, warranty registrations, and payment records. We do not store full card numbers; card payments are handled by our payment processor.
Information collected automatically
Our web host keeps standard server logs, which typically include your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, the site that referred you, and the date and time. We use these to keep the site running and secure.
This site currently sets no cookies
As published, this website does not use cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics. Nothing is loaded from an outside server. If we add analytics or advertising tools later, we will update the Cookies and tracking section below before doing so.
Information from other sources
If you contact us through our Google Business Profile or Facebook page, we receive whatever those platforms pass along — usually your public profile name and the content of your message or review.
How we use it
- To respond to your request and give you a quote or diagnosis.
- To schedule, perform, and follow up on service, installation, and maintenance work.
- To invoice you and collect payment.
- To register equipment warranties with manufacturers on your behalf.
- To keep service history so a future technician knows what was done and when.
- To send maintenance reminders and, if you have asked for them, occasional offers.
- To keep the website working, secure, and free of abuse.
- To meet legal, tax, licensing, insurance, and safety obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have never done so.
Calls, texts, and email
When you submit a form on this site or call and leave your number, you are asking us to get back to you, and you agree that we may contact you by phone, text message, or email at the details you provided — including by automated means — about the service you asked about.
Consent is never a condition of purchase
You do not have to agree to calls or texts in order to buy anything from us. Message and data rates may apply to texts. Message frequency varies.
How to stop hearing from us
You can revoke consent at any time, by any reasonable method. Any of these work:
- Reply STOP to any text message.
- Click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Tell whoever you are speaking with on the phone, or tell the technician at your home.
- Call (864) 314-6305 or emaildavisandsons23@gmail.com and say you want to opt out.
We honor opt-out requests as soon as practicable, and no later than ten business days after we receive them. Note that opting out of marketing does not stop essential messages about work already scheduled or in progress — for example, a technician letting you know they are on the way. If you want those to stop as well, tell us and we will only use the channel you prefer.
When we share it
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers
- Companies that run things on our behalf — website hosting, form and email delivery, scheduling and invoicing software, and payment processing. They may only use the information to perform that service for us.
- Equipment manufacturers and distributors
- To register your warranty, order the right parts, or process a warranty claim.
- Subcontractors
- On the rare job where we bring in a licensed specialist (for example, electrical or crane work), they receive only what they need to do that work.
- Legal and safety
- When required by law, subpoena, or regulator, or when we reasonably need to protect someone's safety, investigate fraud, or establish or defend legal claims.
- Business transfer
- If the business is ever sold or merged, customer records would transfer as part of that transaction. We would notify you if the new owner's handling of your information materially changed.
Cookies and tracking
As described above, this website does not currently set cookies or load third-party trackers. Your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals therefore have nothing to act on here, but we would honor a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request if we later add advertising or analytics technology.
If we do add such tools, we will describe them here — what they are, what they collect, and how to turn them off — before or at the time they go live. You can also control cookies through your browser settings at any time.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that never became a job — up to two years, then deleted.
- Customer and job records — for as long as you are a customer and then as long as needed for warranty, tax, insurance, and licensing purposes. Equipment warranties commonly run ten years, so installation records are generally kept at least that long.
- Server logs — a short rolling period set by our host, typically weeks rather than years.
We delete or anonymize information once we no longer have a business or legal reason to keep it.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to a business of our size: the website is served over encrypted HTTPS, access to customer records is limited to people who need it, devices are password protected, and payment card data is handled by our processor rather than stored by us.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you as required by the South Carolina Financial Identity Fraud and Identity Theft Protection Act and any other applicable law.
Your privacy rights
South Carolina does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy statute. Even so, we extend the following rights to everyone who contacts us, regardless of where you live:
- Know and access — ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy.
- Correct — ask us to fix anything inaccurate.
- Delete — ask us to delete your information, subject to records we must keep for warranty, tax, or legal reasons.
- Opt out — stop marketing calls, texts, and emails, as described above.
- No retaliation — we will not refuse service, charge you a different price, or give you lower-quality service because you exercised any of these rights.
To make a request, call (864) 314-6305 or emaildavisandsons23@gmail.com. We will respond within 45 days. If we need more time we will tell you why. We may need to verify your identity first — usually by confirming details of a job we did for you — so that we do not hand your information to someone else. An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf with your written permission.
If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have additional rights under it, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. Contact us using the details above and we will tell you how.
Children's privacy
This website is intended for adults arranging work on a home. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Other websites
This site links to our Google Business Profile and our Facebook page. Those services are operated by other companies with their own privacy policies and their own tracking. We do not control what they collect, and this policy does not cover it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we handle information we already hold about you, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you directly.
